ZetBet is the latest sports betting enterprise from the betting experts at the very experienced Marketplay Ltd group. The most recognised name from the Marketplay Ltd group of companies is probably Mr.Play, that weird brand that insists everyone wears a moustache!

Like Mr.Play, ZetBet UK combines several playful gambling options into one, all covered over with a bright orange wrapper. It has dedicated sections for a casino, the obligatory live casino, scratch cards and of course, the sportsbook which is what we are most interested about with this ZetBet review. It is worth noting that the ZetBet sportsbook uses the excellent BTO.bet platform, which is one that truly delivers a dynamic sports betting experience.

ZetBet of course has the proper licensing from the United Kingdom Gambling Commission for UK players, plus a Malta Gaming Authority licence for players outside of the United Kingdom.

ZetBet Sign Up Offer Overview

The ZetBet sign up offer is really easy to understand – bet £10, get £10. This means that all you have to do here is deposit a tenner and settle a total of £10 in bets. Once you have done this, the £10 ZetBet free bet token is yours. Naturally there are a few more terms and conditions in association with this ZetBet welcome bonus, and we’re going to get into them right now.

The Zetbet welcome offer is only open to new customers of course, and you can only use it once. You need to make an initial deposit of at least £10 in order to be eligible for your bonus, and you should make that deposit using a debit card (eWallets such as PayPal will render your deposit ineligible).

Your bet token will be issued to you once you have made a total of £10 in settled bets, all with odds of at least Evens (2.00). You will then have 14 days in which to use your £10 bet token, else it will be removed from your account. Your bet token can only be used on selections with total odds of 4/5 (1.80) or higher. As is always the case with these types of offer, your bet token stake is not returned if your bet is a winning one, only your winnings.

For ongoing customers, there are only two other sports-related bonuses available but they do stretch the definition of ‘promotion’ a little thinly. We have included them below so that you are aware of them and can make your own mind up about them.

  • Take Control and Cash Out – Despite being listed on the ZetBet promotions page, we don’t really feel it belongs there. This ‘promo’ simply outlines ZetBet’s cash-out feature, which is usually available at most sportsbooks. One thing to note is that cash out is only offered on bets that have a minimum stake of £0.10, and minimum single (for single events) or combined (for system bets and accas) odds of 1/10 (1.10). Cash out is available on both pre-event and in-play markets.
  • Boost your Zet Bets – This option is available for accumulators which have a minimum of four selections (five for horse racing) and with combined minimum odds of 1/5 (1.20). For a four-leg acca if all four legs come in, then your winnings are boosted by a ‘mystery’ percentage. Of course, the more selections you make the bigger the percentage boost up to a maximum of 77 percent. One thing to note is that the maximum ‘extra winnings’ you can obtain maxes out at £11,000.

Is ZetBet Safe?

As we have already outlined, ZetBet has the proper licensing from the UKGC to accept players from the UK, so ZetBet UK is perfectly safe and legal in this regard. ZetBet’s owners – MarketPlay – have been around since 2014 when they launched their first online gambling venture. Their sports betting licence has been active since 2017, and their casino licence since 2014. We have not found any evidence of licence problems or suspensions since MarketPlay’s UKGC licence was granted.

Which Sports Can I Bet On With ZetBet?

The easy answer to this question is ‘all of them’. Because of the extensive nature of the BTO.bet platform most global events are automatically captured meaning countless betting opportunites arise. In terms of numbers football dominates just as you would expect – we found well over 1,500 matches available when we reviewed the betting options.

Also boasting impressive numbers are tennis, basketball, golf, baseball, American football and – a little surprisingly – table tennis. We were also impressed with ZetBet’s eSports options as the site has fantastic coverage of CS:GO, LOL, DoTA 2, Kings of Glory, Rainbow Six, Rocket League, Starcraft and Valorant.

ZetBet Odds and Value

ZetBet does not offer ‘best odds guaranteed‘ but when we compared the odds directly for specific events with other leading sports books we found them to be very competitive indeed. If ZetBet becomes your sports book of choice you won’t really have to look elsewhere to get better odds.

Bet Limits

While coming up with our ZetBet review we found the lower betting limits to be very generous here – all bets have to be a minimum of £0.10 which compares favorably to other sites. We could not find any information about the upper betting limits in operation at the site and became frustrated in our efforts to do so.

In Play Betting

The live betting section at ZetBet is just as comprehensive as their future markets section and really is kept up to the moment. The number of markets though was not as numerous as we have seen at other sites, but in terms of football at least we can’t imagine that a single match is not available for live betting.

Live Streaming

Currently there is no live streaming at all at ZetBet. Other sites and media corporations seem to currently have a stranglehold on streaming, so we don’t expect this situation to change in the near future, but we will tell you if it does.

ZetBet Cash Out & Other Features

The cash out section at ZetBet is tied in the live betting section of course. Most live events will have cash out facilites, plus you should be able to cash-out pre-event bets you made if you have a change of heart, for a slight loss though.

In terms of other features we are struggling a little, and this is something that needs to be improved.

Customer Service

We are going to have to give our lowest marks in our ZetBet review for the site’s customer service options. While the FAQs section is decent enough, clicking on the ‘contact us’ section will only bring up a button marked ‘Email Us’. The ZetBet support team is available 8am-midnight (CET) but if the team only responds to emails it’s hardly ideal.

We hope ZetBet adds live chat as a minimum soon. We found a live chat applet ‘by accident’ while looking at the deposit options, but it seemed to be unmonitored.

There is actually no need to verify your account when you first sign up at ZetBet, although you will receive an email with your full account details. You may need to verify your account when you make a withdrawal though.

Step 5: Withdraw Winnings

You can head to the cashier section at any time to withdraw funds from your account. Note that you need to use a payment method you’ve previously used for a deposit in order to withdraw. You can find details about withdrawals later on in this ZetBet review. Once ZetBet reviews your payment request it should be with you in zero to four days, depending on the payment method you chose.

ZetBet App

ZetBet does not offer a dedicated betting app. If you want to use ZetBet on your mobile device you will need to use your favourite mobile browser and head to the site just as you would on a mobile desktop. The full functionality of ZetBet is available on mobile and the site works really well on phone and tablets, although we have seen better.

ZetBet Pros & Cons

Now let’s back track over our ZetBet review and pick out the things we really like about ZetBet, and the things we found that left a sour taste in the mouth.

What We Like:

  • Range of Markets – we are very impressed with the range of markets available at ZetBet, especially football and eSports. The live betting section with cash-out is really good too. ALL major and most major sports betting markets are available at ZetBet so no matter what you want to wager upon, you will probably find it here.
  • Casino – any site that gives you access to the Mr.Play casino (even though it is cunningly disguised by wearing a ZetBet casino skin) can only be good! There are a huge number of slots available from NetEnt, Microgaming and others, plus scratch cards and an outstanding live casino. Even if you are not a sports bettor we can recommend the ZetBet casino.
  • Payment Options – we like the range of payment options available at ZetBet. Although Neteller is missing, we found the additions of PayPal, MuchBetter, Skrill, AstroPay and Paysafecard to be very welcome indeed.

What We Don’t Like:

  • Fee for PayPal Deposits – this one is a bit of a mystery as no other deposit methods seem to attract a fee, so even though the fee for PayPal is a minimal one at 2.5% it is still something that we would prefer not to be there! Other ZetBet reviews we looked out echoed our sentiments.
  • Customer Support Confusion – although the site does not mention it has live support available, during the creation of our ZetBet review we found a support applet is available via the deposit screen. However, when we used it we, nobody answered! The site really does need to be clear as to whether live support is available or not, and if not, it needs to be added.
  • Site Design – in some aspects the site design is poor. Some windows overlap other windows, some text falls outside boundaries (especially on mobile) and if you choose the wrong deposit option, you have to restart the deposit process from scratch instead of simply taking one step backwards. The actual sports betting side from BTO.bet is very impressive though.

Bottom Line on ZetBet

We were interested to learn that the people behind Mr.Play were launching another site and so we have been interested to find out exactly what ZetBet has to offer. While coming up with our ZetBet review were impressed by what we found although as the site is very much a clone of Mr.Play that perhaps is not too surprising!

The ‘nuts and bolts’ sports betting side of ZetBet is very impressive, although that is down to BTO.bet whose sports betting software is among the very best in the business. The ZetBet site itself does need a tiny bit of attention, and the addition of live support (or the clearing up of the c0nfusion over live support at least) is a must.
