After slipping to 3.7 million in February, this figure surged to over 7.2 million in April last year and continued rising.<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"infogram_0_bfaf14f8-6600-4be0-84af-8de00de7c838\" title=\"Twitch streamers\" src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed.js?V0E\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Statistics show the third quarter of the year witnessed the most impressive growth, with the number of Twitch streamers jumping from 7.4 million in September to over 9.2 million in December, almost a 25% increase in three months. This figure rose by another 650 hundred in the first few weeks of 2021, with the number of streamers reaching nearly 9.9 million in January.<\/p>\n<p>The Twitch Tracker data indicate the average number of streaming channels also surged amid the pandemic. In January 2020, there we around 52,800 channels on the popular streaming platform. This figure jumped to 119,200 last month, a 125% increase year-over-year.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Number of Twitch Viewers hit an All-Time High in January <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Today, Twitch offers one of the largest audiences on the internet. Before the pandemic and lockdown, the popular streaming platform had an average of 1.25 million viewers who watched 660 billion minutes of streams in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>However, these figures exploded last year. Statistics show the average number of Twitch viewers soared by 68% year-over-year and hit over 2.1 million in 2020.
