Safter Gambling Week, which runs from the 13-19 November 2023, has seen collective efforts and support from industry, government and regulators. Various parties from the gambling industry are working in tandem to promote responsible gambling.<\/strong><\/p>\n Safter Gambling Week is underway for 2023, running from Monday 13th November to Sunday 19th November. This year, Safer Gambling Week will see huge support from a the gambling industry as a collective, including from industry, government and regulators.<\/p>\n Promoting responsible gambling has become a huge part of sports betting<\/a> in recent years. Even UK bookies themselves are putting out adverts promoting safter gambling too, and the importance of knowing your limits and keeping betting fun, but safe.<\/p>\n This year marks the seventh year of Safer Gambling Week, which focuses on safter gambling tools and support services. The event is organised by the BGC, BACTA and the Bingo Association.<\/p>\n The main aim of Safter Gambling Week is to raise awareness of the harms of sports betting, helping protect those vulnerable to gambling-related harm whilst ensuring a safe betting environment.<\/p>\n Thinks like spend caps, deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion and account freezing are all ways in which people can become safter gamblers. Last year showcased a notable increase in responsible gambling actions, with roughly 200,000 accounts setting deposit limits – a 12.5% rise from the previous year.<\/p>\n Chief Executive of the Gambling Commission, Andrew Rhodes, stressed the significance of safety in gambling, mentioning that Safer Gambling Week provides a unique opportunity to draw attention to responsible gambling practices<\/a> and encouraging operators to share best practices.<\/p>\n Michael Dugher, Chief Executive of the BGC, has highlighted just how important Safer Gambling Week is today, and how much of an impact it has on helping problem gambling:<\/p>\n “We also use the week to highlight the outstanding work that third sector organisations deliver, such as GamCare who provide treatment and operate the National Gambling Helpline, Gordon Moody who provide residential treatment and YGAM who educate young people on the dangers of harmful gambling.”<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Safter Gambling Week, which runs from the 13-19 November 2023, has seen collective efforts and support from industry, government and regulators.
