What is BetVictor?

William Chandler founded his bookmaking company in 1946 at the Walthamstow Greyhound Stadium in Waltham Forest, East London. His son, Victor took over running of the business upon his father’s passing in 1974. In 1998 the company relocated to Gibraltar.

In 2004 William Chandler, the company, was rebranded ‘VC Bet’ but this lasted only four years before the name ‘Victor Chandler’ was adopted. The company was not done with name changes yet though, and in 2012 it was rebranded again, this time to ‘BetVictor’, a name which has since stuck.

Is BetVictor Safe?

BetVictor was a company that took a huge hit in 2022 when it was found guilty by the UKGC of several failings in line with the expectations of having a UKGC licence. The charges included failings when it came to fairness, social responsibility and anti-money laundering. The company was one of several betting firms to suffer regulatory action during this period. Because of these findings, BetVictor’s fine of £2 million was handed to the National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms. As of November 2024, BetVictor has faced no further regulatory actions, which can be taken as a sign that their betting site is now a much safer place to bet at.

BetVictor Limits
