What is NetBet?

logo-netbet1NetBet was actually formed all the way back in 2001. For reference, the likes of Bet365 and Betfair were only launched in 2000 and 1999 respectively, making them roughly the same age. In short, NetBet has an impressive track record behind it. After all, surviving for over two decades in the hyper-competitive betting industry is far from easy. 

NetBet is a truly international sportsbook. While still flying under the radar in Britain, it has enjoyed considerable success elsewhere on the continent. Its parent company – NetBet Enterprises Limited – is headquartered in Malta, but has offices in Spain, the UK, and elsewhere. NetBet also holds licenses in an impressive range of countries, not just in the UK and Europe, but in Asia and Africa too.

In addition to its feature-heavy sportsbook, which we’ll focus on in this NetBet review, there are also Casino, Lottery, and Poker sections in place. Across all these areas it is highly-committed to responsible betting, being partnered with GAMSTOP, GAMCARE, Gamble Aware, and more, all in an effort to help those with a gambling problem.

Is NetBet Safe?

At Safe Betting Sites – as the name suggests – the safety of a bookmaker is of the utmost importance to us. If we don’t feel that a brand is highly secure, we simply can’t recommend them. 

Fortunately, we found no problems in this area during our NetBet review, with plenty of measures in place to help ensure your peace of mind. Crucially, they’re licensed with the UK Gambling Commission, which holds sportsbooks to the highest standards for security and fairness. NetBet also holds licenses with other regulatory bodies across Europe, including the Malta Gaming Authority.

NetBet doesn’t offer much information about their actual security features. We do know that there’s a clear separation between company and customer funds, though, and that payments are processed by a third-party company, Websecurity Transactions. Both encryptions and firewalls are also in place, although – again – little additional information is provided here. 

Overall, despite a lack of detail, we are completely confident in NetBet’s safety. Securing a license with the UK Gambling Commission isn’t easy. By having one, NetBet automatically assures users that its security has been thoroughly investigated and verified.

What Sports Can I Bet On With NetBet?

Even by modern standards, NetBet’s selection of betting markets is highly impressive. Over 40 are provided, which is considerably more than the usual 20-30 you’ll find on most bookies.

All the major bases are covered, such as football, tennis, golf, cricket, and motorsports. Crucially, horse racing is also included, with British, Irish, and International courses all available to bet on. There’s also an exceptionally strong eSports section, with CS:GO, LoL, Rainbow Six, Dota 2, and more all represented, and American competitions like the NBA and NFL are also incorporated. In short, if you want to bet on any professional sports event, you’ll almost certainly be able to on NetBet.

NetBet UK Odds and Value

It’s not just the range of markets which is available, of course, but the actual prices of those markets. After all, if a bookie’s odds are unusually low, this will put a permanent cap on your profits.

In the case of NetBet, we’re pleased to say this isn’t a problem. The average payout rate is above 96%, which is easily superior to most of the competition. Prices on both pre-match and outright odds are also in line with NetBet’s competitors, and the odds you’re offered for both placing and cashing out live bets are fair.

Bet Limits

The flexible betting limits on NetBet make this a suitable option for both casual punters and high rollers. You need to deposit an industry standard £10 to get started, and the minimum stake amount thereafter is only 5p (£0.05). No flat maximum stake amount is listed, although you’re limited to £20,000 in winnings on a single wager. That’s pretty generous in our book, and NetBet also allows you to withdraw up to a hefty £100,000 per month from your account.

In-Play Betting

Nowadays, live betting features have gone from being a luxury to a ‘must-have. Again, we were extremely impressed with what we found here throughout our NetBet review.

In-Play is given its own entire section here, in which ongoing games from a huge variety of sports are listed on one simple page. For the bigger sports, like football, there’s surprisingly little drop-off in terms of the bet types you can use. The odds for those markets update regularly, to reflect the latest goings-on, and both the live betting and cash out tools are highly responsive. NetBet even has a ‘SnapBet’ feature too, which allows you to carry out extremely short-term pulse betting with ease.

Live Streaming

This is a rare area in which NetBet UK comes up short. At the time of writing this NetBet review, there is no live streaming whatsoever available here. Instead, you’re reliant on a visualisation tool (which is actually very good indeed), and a few live statistics, to keep you up to date.

Other Functionality

In addition to its exceptionally deep market selection for real sports, NetBet also has a fully-featured Virtual Sports section in place. This covers football, horse racing, and greyhound racing. The graphics in each case are respectable, and new events kick off almost constantly.

Elsewhere, NetBet has a few more tricks up its sleeve. There’s a bet builder – called ‘Bet Maker’ here – which helps you craft same-game multiples with ease. You also get access to an excellent database of statistics and a regularly-updated blog, each of which helps to inform your betting.

Customer Service

Getting your enquiries answered is extremely easy on NetBet UK. Most importantly, live chat is in place here, allowing you to immediately contact the customer service team between 09:00 – 23:00 GMT each day. A WhatsApp number is provided too, through which you can also get direct help, or – if your issue isn’t urgent – you can send an email instead. We made several test enquiries as part of our NetBet review, and received helpful and friendly responses in each case.

NetBet also has a very good Help Centre. This features dozens of concise, useful articles on a whole range of important areas, including payments, bonuses, and account management.

How to Get Started on NetBet

Most modern sportsbooks have a pretty quick and easy sign up process in place now. We’re happy to say this is also the case with NetBet. Opening your account and starting to bet only requires a couple of minutes of your time, with these being the four main steps.

To get started here, click the orange ‘Register’ button on NetBet’s home page. You’ll then see the first of four screens, each of which must be completed in turn.

To start with, you’ll need to set your account details, including your email address and a password. After that, you must provide a range of personal details, including your name, date of birth, and contact information. Step 3: Fund Your Account

Once your account has been created, it’s time to stick some money into it. Log in, using the details you set during the last step, and click the ‘Deposit’ button in the top-right.

A pop-up box will now appear, with a dropdown menu of all your deposit options. Pick the one you’d like to use, and enter the amount you want to deposit. You can also enter a deposit bonus code here, if you have one. Click the ‘Add £x to my account’ button, enter the requested payment details, then confirm the deposit.

Step 4: Place Bets

In most cases, your deposit will be processed instantly. Once that’s done, you’re free to start placing wagers.

To do so, go back to the ‘Sports’ homepage via the link along the top menu. You can then see all the available sports listed down the left of your screen. Pick one – e.g. ‘Football’ – then find the matchup you’re interested in. Click on it to see all your available bet types, then click again on the individual odds you want to take.

Step 5: Make a Withdrawal

In general, making a withdrawal is just as easy as making a deposit. You still click the ‘Deposit’ button to enter the payment screen, but then select ‘Withdraw’ from your options down the left-hand side. After that, just provide the necessary information, enter how much you want to take out, and click the ‘Withdraw £x from sport’ button.

Before you can do this, however, you will need to verify your identity. To do this, click the ‘Upload documents’ option in the aforementioned pop-up payments window. You can then use this to upload photos of your photo ID, proof of address, and – if necessary – the front of your debit card. The identity should be verified very shortly thereafter.

While we’ve focused mainly on its desktop offering so far in this NetBet review, there are also mobile apps available for both iOS and Android users. The former can be found on the App Store, while the latter must be downloaded directly from NetBet’s website.

In both cases, the NetBet apps do an excellent version of replicating the desktop site. All the same features are carried over – from in-play betting and cash out, to making deposits and withdrawals – and the interface has been skilfully adapted for smaller screen sizes. There are also a couple of additional useful features, including live score notifications, and – in the past – NetBet have been known to offer mobile-only promotions.

Functionally, we found the app to work extremely well during our research for this NetBet review. We experienced no crashes whatsoever, all pages loaded extremely, and – as with the desktop site – the live betting tools are very responsive indeed.

Generally speaking, the more payment methods a bookie can offer, the better. While NetBet hardly excels in this area, they do cover all the main bases.

Visa and Mastercard are covered, as you’d expect, and you can make both direct wire transfers, or bank transfers via Trustly. There’s a smattering of eWallets available too, including PayPal, and mobile-only users can deposit (but not withdraw) using Google Pay.

There are no particularly disappointing absences here. Still, it’s strange that Google Pay is included while Apple Pay isn’t, and both Skrill and Neteller are missing.

What We Like:

  • Market Selection Normal sportsbooks will give you 20 or 30 sports to choose between, which is already enough for most punters. NetBet takes things to another level, with over 40 different options available.
    It’s not just the breadth of their market selection which we loved though, but its depth too. Within each sport, you’ll generally find excellent coverage of the different competitions, or – in the case of eSports – different titles. The variety of bet types is also commendable, giving you a high degree of flexibility in your gambling.
  • Payment Methods
    NetBet doesn’t quite tick every box here, but there’s still a very good amount of choice. The four main options – debit card, bank transfer, eWallets, and prepaid cards – are all represented. Both deposits and withdrawals are fairly speedy, and – naturally – we were pleased to find no transaction fees being charged.
  • User Interface
    Regardless of your experience level, you’ll find NetBet easy to use from the first time you log on. That goes for both the desktop site and mobile apps. In both cases, the interface is streamlined and straightforward. Your options along the top and side menus are intuitively laid-out, and all the text and odds are displayed extremely clearly.
  • Special Offers
    As with payment methods, while the range of special offers isn’t exceptional here, all the main bases are covered. There are versions of the two classic accumulator deals – Boost and Insurance – along with a few more imaginative options. The welcome offer provides fair value too, and – in all cases – the T&Cs are very clearly explained. 

What We Don’t Like:

  • Absence of Streaming
    Considering its age, and the quality elsewhere, it’s a little surprising to see that live streaming is completely absent from NetBet. That said, the visualisation tool is a decent substitute.
  • Lack of 24/7 Support
    We’re nit-picking here, but the very top sportsbooks will almost always provide 24/7 customer support. NetBet’s coverage isn’t bad, but the fact that it ends at 23:00 each night may annoy some users.

NetBet Sports Betting Site – Final Thoughts

After spending a lot of time with the sportsbook during our research for this NetBet review, we have to say one thing. Quite simply, we’re baffled as to why this bookie isn’t more popular.

Its track record is impressive (as most NetBet reviews will tell you), stretching back for two decades, but it’s also done a fantastic job of moving with the times. Almost all the most important features you’d expect from a modern-day bookie are in place here. That includes mobile apps, in-play and cash out tools, a bet builder, pulse betting, and more, all of which are of an extremely high quality. You’ll also find great customer service, plenty of payment options, and a genuinely exceptional selection of betting markets.

While we always try to write a balanced analysis, we found almost nothing to complain about for this NetBet review. Live streaming would obviously be nice, as would 24/7 customer service, but we wouldn’t regard either absence as a ‘deal-breaker’.
