What is BetMGM?
BetMGM is the sports betting arm of the hospitality company MGM, or Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to give the company its full name. MGM began life as (and remains) a movie production company, founded in 1924 with the amalgamation of three other studios. BetMGM Sponsorship
BetMGM is a relatively new concern in the UK, and we cannot as yet find any sponsorship deals that involve them directly. They have though partnered with EPL side Newcastle United. This involves brand exposure around St James Park, with no shirt sponsorship.
The main ambassador for BetMGM in the UK is actor, comedian and Will Smith-slap victim Chris Rock. His face appears on almost all of BetMGM’s UK advertising. In the US, BetMGM’s face is Jamie Foxx.
Parent company LeoVegas are no strangers to sports sponsorship, being the current ‘front of shirt’ sponsors of League Two side Blackpool. In the past they have sponsored Brentford and Norwich City.
Is BetMGM Safe?
BetMGM is managed and maintained in the UK by LeoVegas Gaming. LeoVegas acquired their casino licence in November 2o14, followed by a general sports betting licence in April 2016 and a bingo licence in February 18. The company currently runs six gambling domains, with another seven being dormant. Full details can be found on the UKGC site, licence number 39198.
In the US, BetMGM sprang into life in 2018. Initially online, it gained its first real-world gaming venue in Mississippi a year later. It is now one of the leading legal and safe sports betting companies in the US, with licences in 23 states as of November 2023.
BetMGM fully complies with all required aspects of the award of a UK licence, including the protection of customer data, the prevention of money laundering and the monitoring of customer account to identify problematic gambling behaviours.

BetMGM Odds
The odds offered by BetMGM are controlled by the sports betting software as maintained by LeoVegas and used by BetMGM. We took a quick look – for the day’s top match BetMGM were offering 21/4 (6.25) for a home win, and 1/2 (1.50) for an away win. We compared that to the best odds offered across the board, and we found them to be 6/1 (7.00) for a home win, and 18/35 (1.51). While this is a very small sample size, it shows that BetMGM’s offered odds are genuinely competitive.
Note that BetMGM does not offer ‘best odds guaranteed‘ on any betting market, which is a disappointment.
BetMGM Limits
There is no minimum bet limitation at BetMGM, and if you want to place a bet for as little as a penny, you are welcome to do so. Maximum bet limitations are dependent on the amount, market and event. You may successfully place a bet via the BetMGM sports betting site for a large amount, but if it gets flagged and BetMGM deem it too much, you will receive a message and the money will be returned to your account.
We tried to find out about winnings limits via the site’s help function, but the answers we hoped for were not forthcoming.
In-Play Betting
Live betting at BetMGM has its own section, which can be accessed via a button at the bottom of any page. This will bring up all the current live games taking place across the globe in football, tennis, basketball, cricket and eSports plus any other major events covering other markets.
In a nice touch, other markets beyond ‘1X2‘ are quickly available via the BetMGM sports betting interface so you can access them instantly. With other sites, you have to dig around a little deeper.
Live Streaming
BetMGM, as yet, does not have any live streaming. As LeoVegas has never added live streaming to its sports betting repertoire, we are going to take a wild stab and predict that BetMGM is unlikely to as well.
Other Features
The main ‘other’ aspect of the BetMGM sports betting site you are likely to be interested in is their ‘Golden Goals’ feature. This is a free game that is open to BetMGM account holders only. Each week six football matches will be selected, and you will tasked in predicting the correct score for all six. If you get them all correct, then you win £2 million, which is pretty cool.
Any week (which, we are guessing, is nearly all of them) if someone does not win the jackpot, then all players with the most correct scores get to share a £2,000 prize-pot. It’s certainly worth your while trying this game, as it costs you absolutely nothing to enter.
Customer Service
At first, the customer service applet will direct you through to the FAQs but it really is easy to be put through to a genuine service customer representative – just click the ‘contact us’ button. Sadly, this is not a bespoke service, but a general third-party query team that answers your queries by searching through the information they have. While this is a better service than a ChatGPT-fuelled bot, we’d prefer BetMGM to have a dedicated service team.
Our BetMGM review expert did try the chat applet and got through to a real person, but we found them to be unhelpful, especially when they just gave up and left us high and dry. Your experience may differ though.

Payment options at BetMGM are limited to debit cards, PayPal and bank transfers. Other eWallets aside from PayPal (such as Skrill and Neteller) are not available. The minimum deposit required is £10 across the board.
The minimum withdrawal is also £10, and although BetMGM says it can take up to five working days to get your money, the site will do all it can to process your withdrawal request much quicker than that.

BetMGM review – Pros & Cons
There is a lot to like about the BetMGM betting site and while not everything is perfect, there’s no much that we found to complain about. We have summarised the hits and misses below:
What We Like:
What We Like:- Golden Goals. Not many sites offer you the chance to win £2 million for nothing, but BetMGM does. A share of £2,000 for a near miss is not too bad, either.
- Huge Brand. BetMGM is massive in the US and although it’s new to the UK, we think it’s likely to become a big name over here too. It certainly has some backing, with Chris ‘Ouch!’ Rock as a brand ambassador.
- Continual Promos. It’s not just a case of ‘thank you, ma’am’ once BetMGM has gained your registration. There are promos and rewards available for regular site users, as well as newcomers.
What We Don’t Like:
- No live streaming. Meh … we know established sites have monopolised the live streaming market, but it would be nice if BetMGM offered it.
- Customer Support. It’s a third party support team, not a dedicated BetMGM support team, which is a shame.
- No ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’. Wouldn’t take much for BetMGM to do this, so it’s a disappointment they don’t.
Final thoughts on BetMGM
We think BetMGM will go on to great things. As we might have mentioned, the US side of BetMGM is absolutely massive, so the LeoVegas-backed UK arm is unlikely to just sneak around the fringes of the country’s sports betting arena. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ve probably seen advertising material for BetMGM on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. Oh, and whatever Elon Musk is calling Twitter this week. We think BetMGM has big plans.
