During the 2024 season, the Sun, which happens to be the only major league professional sports team based in Connecticut, are paying its players an average salary of $139,890 per annum.
The likes of Phoenix Mercury, Seattle Storm, and New York Liberty are not further behind with all of them having an average salary of more than $130k.
Las Vegas Aces and Dallas Wings are next on the table with average salaries of $125.13k and $117.17k respectively. Minnesota Lynx are slightly further behind with an annual average salary of $116.78k, followed by Atlanta Dream at $112.6k.
The last four spots on the list are taken by Washington Mystics ($110.32k), Indian Fever ($106.81k), Chicago Sky ($105.18k), and Los Angeles Sparks($104.66k).
Highest individual salary is almost $242k
When it comes to individual players, three players currently share the top spot in the salary charts.
Jewell Loyd of Seattle Storm, Kahleah Copper of Phoenix Mercury, and Arike Ogunbowale of Dallas Wings all are earning a base salary of $241,984, and are the best paid players in WNBA currently.
Diana Taurasi of Phoenix Mercury is the fourth highest earner in WNBA with an annual salary of $234,936. Natasha Howard, Dallas Wings, is the last in our list of top five highest earning WNBA players with a base salary of $234,350.
