Euro 2024 is on the brink of kickoff, and all participating nations have unveiled their final squads. SafeBettingSites.com decided to analyze the 24 squads and 623 players on the basis of the domestic leagues and clubs they represent.
Serie A on the second spot with 91 players
Our findings reveal a notable presence of Premier League talent, with 99 players—constituting 16% of the overall roster—having played in the league during the 2023-24 season. In simpler terms, nearly one in every six players competing at Euro 2024 hails from the Premier League.
Serie A is not far behind the Premier League with 91 players. The top tier of Italian football accounts for 14.6% of all players at Euro 2024. Italy are the defending champions, and all but three players of the Italian squad play in Serie A.
Bundesliga, the top tier of German football, is next with 76 players – 12.2% of the entire player base. Spain’s La Liga follows next, with 56 players from the league participating in Euro 2024.
Expectedly, the top five leagues are the biggest contributors to the talent on display at the Euro Cup. However, Ligue 1 pales in front of the other big four, with just 28 players from the league selected for the European championship.
Turkish Super Lig will have the biggest representation at Euro 2024 outside the big five leagues. Twenty-four players from the league have been selected for the tournament. The Czech First League is next with 21 players. Austrian Bundesliga and Netherlands’ Eredivisie will have 16 players each at the tournament, followed by the Ukrainian Premier League with 15. All of Turkey, Czech Republic, and Ukraine have qualified for the tournament.
The English Championship gets the nod of the second division of football with the most players at Euro 2024 with 14. Serie B, the second division of Italian football, is also on the list with 13 players. Liga Portugal is sandwiched between the two second-division leagues with 14 players.
At the bottom, Belgian Pro League, Saudi Pro League, and SuperLeague Greece will all have 12 players each at the tournament. Saudi Pro League is the non-European league with most players at Euro 2024.
Manchester City and Inter Milan lead with 13 players each
Manchester City and Inter Milan lead the pack among individual clubs, boasting 13 players each in their ranks. Both clubs secured domestic league triumphs in the 2023-24 season.
Following closely behind are Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, champions of La Liga and Ligue 1, respectively, each contributing 12 players to the tournament. Not far off, Barcelona, another La Liga powerhouse, will also be represented by a dozen players.
Bundesliga contenders Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig stand shoulder to shoulder with 11 players each, while Bayer Leverkusen, champions of the same league, follow closely with ten representatives. Arsenal, hailing from London, also enters the fray with ten players.
Further down the roster, AS Roma, Sparta Prague, Liverpool, and Juventus are among the clubs fielding nine players each. Joining them further down the list are VfL Wolfsburg, AC Milan, Manchester United, and Bologna, each contributing eight players to the Euro 2024 tournament.
