Bet365 Cheltenham Bet Returns £10.5k For One Lucky Punter
Ante post betting is one of the most popular forms of punting when it comes to the big meetings such as the Cheltenham Festival, and one visionary bet365 user had a big day on Tuesday. But, the first horse in their bet didn’t even win!
An anonymous gambler placed this bet almost one year ago with bet365, a £1o four fold, see below the prices of his ante post selections.
- Supreme Novices’ Hurdle – TULLYHILL @ 25/1
- Ballymore (Gallagher) Novices’ Hurlde – BALLYBURN @ 16/1
- Champion Chase – EL FABIOLO @ 4/1
- Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle – BRIGHTERDAYSAHEAD @ 20/1
Bet365 posted the bet on Twitter (now known as X) saying: “£10 > £10,529.63 before a race had even taken place.
“Placed 355 days ago, one customer partially cashed out the below Ante post bet the day before the 2024 Cheltenham Festival.
“Less than 24 hours later, favourite Tullyhill loses in the first.”
The lucky punter used their “partial cash out” feature on bet365 to land a huge bet in crazy circumstances. Tullyhill went on to finish eighth in the Supreme Novices’ Hurlde on Tuesday, despite going off as the 11/4 favourite.
If the punter didn’t cash out, and the bet did go on to come in, they would have won a staggering £353,600. But, luckily for them the bet would have lost so a “partial cash out” was the best option.

- Rule 4 deductions do not apply
- Better value than waiting for declarations
Cons Of Ante Post Betting
