BetMGM have been announced as the brand new sponsor for the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival, taking place on Gold Cup Day (Friday 15th March 2024)
BetMGM Announced As County Hurdle Sponsor On Gold Cup Day
On what is the biggest day of the week, BetMGM will mark their first Cheltenham Festival with a sponsorship in the second race, the County Hurdle.
They have had plenty of sponsorship throughout the season so far at tracks such as Wolverhampton and Newcastle, but none bigger than this.
BetMGM are regular sponsors of races on the All Weather, sometimes sponsoring whole cards. Well, now they will be sponsoring a race on the grandest stage of them all.
This will be the start of a long-term agreement between the Jockey Club and BetMGM, which will see the popular horse racing betting site sponsor other key National Hunt races throughout the year.
BetMGM had one of their biggest sponsorships so far for horse racing earlier on this year. They were announced as the main sponsor for Ascot’s Clarence House Chase Raceday, but the meeting got cancelled due to weather problems in the UK.
Despite the cancellation though, the feature Clarence House Chase was rescheduled and ran at Cheltenham on Trials Day.
BetMGM UK Director Sam Behar was speaking to the media following this announcement: “We are thrilled to sponsor the County Hurdle. We’re dedicated to providing an entertaining betting experience for racing fans across the country, and have undoubtedly gone the extra mile in giving customers market-leading offers.”

With the new partnership formed with BetMGM, Matt Powell (Acting Director of Partnerships at The Jockey Club) said the following: “We are delighted to announce this new partnership and what better way to start it off than with the BetMGM County Hurdle, one of the most competitive contests staged during The Cheltenham Festival. What Other Events Do BetMGM Sponsor?
After expanding to the UK, BetMGM have put a new focus on sponsoring popular sports. They have plenty of sponsorship in English football and can be seen on advertising boards around stadiums in the Premier League.
They also recently became the main sponsors of Premier League Darts, a 17-week competition that runs from February to May.
Meanwhile they have also formed partnerships in America with the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLS and the PGA Tour just to name a few.
